Mailbox Peak

Jun 22, 2008
6 miles round trip, 4000 ft gain
12:30-3:00--3:15-5:10

I finished one of must have hikes in the year.

Very glad that I can reach the top in 2 and half hours. This is the fastest I had ever. The improvement on the trail at the begginning helps. The shining diamond mark on trees along the trail also helps. I went straight up in snow after coming out the woods. The shortcut might also helped. Anyway, I did not feel that much tired as I did before. Slow and steady pace suits me better.

Heather Lake

Jun. 15, 2008
4 miles round trip and 1300 ft gain

2008 has too much snow. It's a rare sunny weekend after so many gloomy days. I wanted to have a good hike. Mt. Pilchuck was the original destination. However, the guy told me that there are too much snow there and the best choices there are Lake 22 and Heather Lake so we headed towards the trail head of Heather Lake.

The trail is rocky and wet at the beginning. The last third was still on snow. The lake was beatiful although we could not walk around the lake like I did before.

Twin Falls

May 31
11:35->12:25-->1:15

A lot of people. Among them several huge groups with many kids. One guy was celebrating his 40th Birthday there.

It's an easy hiking with nice views of waterfalls.

Wish summer comes soon so I can hike at some new trails.
