Merritt Lake

Oct. 14, 2006
Zhikers (Henri, Bruce, Helen, Aida, Feng Yong), Charlie, Zhong, Mei, Wenjuan and I
6 miles rt and 2000ft gain

Zhikers picked Merritt lake. Our group met at bothell P&R. This time, I am the driver. Highway 2 is just beatiful, especially those slopes covered in stunningly red color around Stevens Pass.

The trail is well maintained. Ascending is not hard. Merritt lake is sparkling. Took some pictures at the south side of the lake. We moved along the lake and reached the scramble rocks on the nrothwest side, where we again took pictures and enjoyed the beatiful lake. Bruce climbed to the top of the mountain. We circled the lake and took a group pic when we gathered again on the south side of the lake.

It's nice hike. After some hikes around highway 20, I was rewinding a bit. The merritt lake hike make me realize that there are still a lot of beatiful hikes around.
